"FAMC Breast Health Education & Screening Program"

This innovative project will address a knowledge deficit identified in women of the Hutterite community. Education will focus on early detection, screening and appropriate medical resources in four colonies.

All Women Count, statewide
"Making Mammograms Available to 30-49 year old Uninsured Women"

This is a statewide program to provide free breast health screening and edcuation to underserved women. A younger population of approximately 450 women ineligible for other programs will receive essential services.

John T. Vucurevich Regional Cancer Care Institute, Rapid City
"Healing Pathways"

Funding will provide assistance with access to approximately 69 women in remote locations outside Pennington County during breast cancer treatment. Funds will cover costs of travel, lodging, food and supplies.

Flandreau Santee Sioux Tribal Clinic
"The Pink Shawl Project"

Fifty custom-made pink shawls will be given to Native American breast cancer survivors to be worn during the Flandreau Wacipi (pow-wow). Mobile mammography unite qill provide sevices and education.

Sanford Breast Health Institute, Sioux Falls
"Bosom Buddies Membership"

This quality of life proposal will provide funding for 25 memberships in an aquatic exercise program for women affected by breast cancer and lymphedema.

Avera Cancer Institute, Sioux Falls
"A Time to Heal"
This is a 12-week survivorship program based on the successful model developed through a grant from Komen for the Cure. Holistic rehabilitiation is offered to 30 women recently completing breast cancer treatment.
