Community Profile

The Komen South Dakota community profile (also called community needs assessment) plays an integral part in applying core values of the Susan G Komen for the Cure and work in the Komen South Dakota Affiliate's service area.

Breast cancer is a complicated disease; Komen for the Cure cannot possibly attack all of its facets at one time. The community profile is a tool to help determine the areas of most need and focus efforts where the work of the South Dakota Affiliate can have the most significant impact.

The community profile provides direction for the work of the South Dakota Affiliate. It establishes the needs for fund raising, a target for community education programs, priorities for funding grants and a guide for decision-making and strategic planning.
