Milroy, Liudahl, and Wagner attend 2006 Komen Affiliate
Conference.
Dr.
Mary Milroy, Jean Liudahl and Connie Wagner traveled to Little
Rock, AK attending the 2006 Affiliate Conference held February
1-4. The theme for the weekend "Many Faces - One Voice" was
chosen for this critical time in the life of the Komen
Foundation...a time when we must work together like never before
to achieve our ultimate goal of eradicating breast cancer as a
life-threatening disease. The South Dakota Komen women, along
with 750 other attendees celebrated and honored the
inspirational survivors and volunteers who have taken the
promise Nancy Brinker made to her sister nearly 25 years ago and
made it their very own.
Dr.
Milroy, a well known breast surgeon and a Director for the South
Dakota Affiliate, personally met Nancy Brinker who established
the Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Foundation in 1982 to honor the
memory of her sister, Susan Goodman Komen, who died from breast
cancer at the age of 36.
